Lumen said I gave her her life back, a reversal of my usual role. Well, the fact is, she gave me mine back, too. And I’m left not with what she took from me, but with what she brought. Eyes that saw me, finally, for who I really am. And this certainty. That nothing, nothing is set in stone. Not even darkness. While she was here, she made me think, for the briefest moment, that I might even have a chance to be human. …But wishes, of course, are for children.

Now we’ve been talkin’ for a while and you got me tryin’ to figure out
Boy, I don’t know what to say to you,
But you got me feelin’ some kind of way for you.

You got me losin’ myself in what I’m tryin’ to say,
And it’s so hard to fight it—can’t help but feelin’ this way.
And every time that I’m near you—-it’s like my heart gets weak;
Feels like I’m losin’ my breath makin’ it hard to speak.

I just can’t find the words.

Goodbye is a word you knew you never wanted to say or thought to, but life catches you by surprise. Goodbye cursed the receiver and punished the speaker. It ached both hearts and depressed a bond that was once so strong. A regrettable word spoken before a silent thought of love was ever expressed.
It erases the most precious gift in a person’s life. It makes you turn back, live the past and keep that place in your heart forever. Before you can take that word back, you have to live up to the greater goodness of life. Become a better you. Follow your own path and then find yourself to invite that one in again. Gain power and strength from a temporary bereavement. For a time, it must be said and done.

Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them.
Metal in my eyes
and yours are made of magnets.
I can’t look away.

“I believe that two people are connected at the heart, and it doesn’t matter what you do, or who you are or where you live; there are no boundaries or barriers if two people are destined to be together.”

Julia Roberts

“You can gain more friends by being yourself than you can by putting up a front. You can gain more friends by building people up than you can by tearing them down. And you can gain more friends by taking a few minutes from each day to do something kind for someone, whether it be a friend or a complete stranger. What a difference one person can make!”
